Hair Clippers for Dogs?

Are hair clippers for dogs different from human hair clippers. I have human hair clippers and they work on my dog but I wondered if Dog Hair clippers would work better.

Definitely invest in a good pair of dog clippers - I recommend Andis for the average pet owner because they tend to remain cooler longer!

Yes, they are different! Usually, the human kind are not as strong, and can pull the hair of your dog. Also, get a good brand, like Andis or Oster- stay away from the cheap ones at Wal Mart!

They're the same. The dog clippers won't be much better.

I work at a vet clinic, and the doctors have told me that a lot of the clippers out there aren't that great. It's far more important that you have a sharp, clean blade. A dull blade whether for dogs or humans, will pull the hair rather than cut it.

They ALL do the same thing, but I think the dog clippers doesn't make as much noise as the people ones do %26amp; they may get hotter, too; not sure. The Noise scares the dogs.

Yes, they are different. The clippers for dogs have metal blades of different sizes depending how long or short you need to clip the hair, whereas clippers for human hair have only the plastic "guards" for whichever length you want.

Dog grooming clippers are also much stronger so they are able to cut through thick fur unlike human clippers which will probably just drag it.

Also, dog clippers are much more expensive. Mine cost well over 鎷?00 and each blade is 鎷?0 and several are needed.

why would you even put hair clippers on a dog?
