My last relaxer was 1 year ago and I'm considering getting micro braids next weekend. My hair is shoulder length with approx 3 inches of relaxed hair at the ends. What should I use to treat my hair prior to getting micros? i.e. hot oil treatment, deep conditioning, etc... Should I use synthetic or human hair?

Definitely use human hair for micro braids so they last longer and look pretty. I suggest cutting off those relaxed ends before getting the braids. Also deep condition your hair and do a hot oil treatment before getting the braids.

Definitaly do a deep conditioning treatment prior to getting the microbraids. It will help strengthen your hair and allow the braids to work with the hair instead of against. Human hair definitaly. Remember to wash and condition your hair while in braids also.
